And that's the only headline we have for you today. Sounds said to have to leave after
keeping RU alive and kicking for just over 2 years now. This page has been
running on a private server project for over 1,5 years, but it is now
coming to an end. Problems have been on our side lately, and alltogether they forced us to shut down
the website. Somewhat further down on this page I'll explain everything in detail, but first I'd like to state a few important things
for everyone:
- Recording Undeground is down for the moment, but it isn't
gone forever!
- News about CD-R[W] soft-and hardware will not be displayed
at RU anymore...
- A new location for RU, and the exact content of it isn't
clear yet, but we hope to sort that out in short notice.
- We will soon put a lot of effort in setting up a legal site
with news and information on the cdrecording.org url !!!
Now, what exactly made us shut down the site?? :
- Thunder and lightning struck our server a few weeks ago. We
had to replace the hardware, and set things all up again.
- The Dynamic Domain Name Service we were running on has been
shut down. So there's no domain registered to the server anymore.
- Personal threats at our adress have been made by various
software vendors, but that's something about we couldn't really
care.
So, the most important thing about shutting down this website
is the fact that the private server project this page has been running
on is coming to an end. We didn't expect it to be so soon (only 1,5
years it has been running) and we will give it our best efforts in the
future to set it all back up again. But for now, there's really nothing
we can do about it.
But we do not want to disappoint you.
After all you've helped us out with clicking our sponsors, and that
should provide us with enough funding for continuing our service.
Therefore we are currently working very hard on a new website that will
be available soon under: cdrecording.org. We will use our summer
holidays to spend some serious time on it. You will not be
disappointed!!!! As soon as the new page is up, we'll inform all the
webmasters again. So remember: We are not gone, we are just taking some
time for ourselves to think things over, and start working on a new
project.
Not much left to say... But you can still visit our forum, and
go there with your questions and answers. After all, sharing our
knowledge is what's keeping the CD-R scene alive and developing!!! And
last but not least I would like to thank everyone who has helped us out
in any way on this page. Especially I'd like to mention: Itris, SatCP,
The Netmech, zOtt, Codor Softa, and all the others who supported us!
